Dear Customers,
The Food & Hotel Thailand was well organized and attracted
good quality visitors. We had overwhelming response with dozens
from both new properties as well as those currently using other
PMS software showing keen business interest in migrating to
momentohs®. We were reassured by the enthusiasm displayed by
visitors at our booth and it was pleasing to hear the ‘wow’
factor and accolades by many on seeing the ERP-like integration
of momentohs®. We even had a competitor praising our ‘dare to
be different’ and mentioning that old interfaced software will
eventually be replaced by best practice single vendor integrated
software.
Among the key highlights of the show were the culinary delights.
Savoring the food at the dozens of stalls was sufficient for
our team to dieting for a week! Thailand is famous for many
cultural finesse and its culinary delights are among the most
alluring in South East Asia.
One exhibitor that impressed us was VDA (http://www.vdavda.com/company.html).
It is a comprehensive Interactive TV, Building Automation and
Signage. With momentohs®, we can provide the interface to various
modules to read their feeds, room temperature, occupancy and
more. This is one of the few companies that have got Smart Tech
right.
We also participated in The Phuket International Hospitality
Show, September 24-26. The show was small but well attended.
Thailand is not short of PMS vendors, ranging from international
industry standard stalwarts to home grown companies established
over a decade. Breaking into a sophisticated market like Thailand
is not easy but within a year of establishing our Bangkok office
we have won several projects including a major local chain.
Our success comes at a time when the industry is facing its
most difficult time in living memory. Bold decisions taken at
this time will yield the highest returns in the future. To those
who maintain the status quo and continue with legacy software,
the future terrain looks no different. It is a cul de sac and
waiting for the next generation from their existing PMS vendors
is markedly remote. Looking back, the next generation should
have been made available a decade ago. Best practices of integrated
software from a single vendor have been a makeover in many other
sectors since early 90’s. Unfortunately, that is not so in hospitality.
Even health care, a decidedly conservative sector has embrace
all in one integrated solutions.
Bill Gross, Chief Investment Officer at Pimco (2008 assets of
$850b) and one of the most successful money manager’s of our
time has this to say, “It’s time to recognize that things have
changed and that they will continue to change for the next –
yes, the next 10 years and maybe even the next 20 years.” Perhaps
the most important need today is the ability to change and adapt
and embrace change on a continuous basis. To unlearn and re-learn,
be agile and ‘change before change changes you’ are the new
paradigms of success today. We salute hoteliers who have ‘dared
to be different’ and embraced the brave new world of momentohs®.
From their perspective they have taken huge risks and rightly
so, as the industry is firmly ensconced in the past. Moving
the cheese is a monumental departure. From our viewpoint, there
is none. Much of the risks are preconceived notions. Inherently,
they remain without foundation. In other industry sectors, new
software vendors that provide meaningful value propositions
thrive with customers providing a gateway for them to show their
mettle to reach new heights in business improvement. Change
management acumen is a core competence in Banking and Telco
whereas in hospitality it is core rigidity. However, we continue
our zeal to bring industry mind change despite the iron curtains
and deep rooted legacy mindsets. Rule breakers endeavor great
barriers and are more often considered heretics before being
accepted. Hospitality has no choice but to move to a totally
integrated suite from one vendor and discard the old legacy
and outdated ‘interface’ applications.
In times like these, you need to take control of your business.
You must act on every opportunity, innovate your business model
and keep every customer. What is also important is keeping costs
and risks low. Most importantly, you cannot wait months or years
to see ROI.
-
Companies using momentohs® increase their levels of success
quickly and at low cost.
Be ahead when the economy recovers. See how easy it is to hold
on to customers and run your business better.

It is common for people to forget about things to do and missed
events and functions that they have book marked earlier on. Front
Office staff who have substantial workload and systematic follow
ups can often be overwhelmed. To tax the body for physically challenging
work is bad enough, and they can certainly do without the mental
strain of having to remember or keep notes. momentohs® relieves
the staff by having a cute function called Alert tab. This special
function button is developed to enhance hotel operations by having
all the important reminders and alerts accessible at the tip of
their fingers. Important reminders that are available include VIP
arrival list, In House VIP list, Guest Birthday list, Due Arrival,
In House Guest List, Due Check Out & Message List.

Take for instance the VIP arrival list. The Alert tab is the fastest
way to access and to check the details of the VIP arrival for the
day. From there on the user can utilize the unique drill down function,
which momentohs® provides to check and edit minute details as required
by the user. So, the Alert tab not only functions as a perfectly
efficient reminder, but also as a quick short cut to the details
that matter most. |
