JAYA: United Arab Emirates-based
Seven Seas Computers hopes to capture
at least 20% of the hospitality
software market in Malaysia this
year.
Chairman
Mehboob Hamza said the company achieved
sales of RM4mil in Malaysia and
US$350,000 (RM1.33mil) in Vietnam
since establishing its regional
headquarters in Kuala Lumpur in
January last year.
“We are also
expecting our first business (in
hospitality software) in Thailand
soon. Our target for 2006 is RM10mil,”
he told StarBiz.
Mehboob
said its Kuala Lumpur office won
a US$200,000 (RM740,000) deal to
provide its hospitality management
system called momentohs to the Hoang
De Hotel in Vietnam recently.
He said momentohs
was a complete solution incorporating
the front office, food and beverage,
event management, call billing,
central reservation and other modules.

“We
are working with HeiTech Padu
Bhd on the ID card project
in Yemen, system integration
projects on ICT Security with
e-Lock, banking software with
Arkflow, presentation systems
with Industronics and distribution
of access control products
with PUC Founder,” he
said, adding that the company
was currently bidding for
projects worth US$80mil in
West Asia. Mehboob said the
company had invested RM1.5mil
in its office in Kuala Lumpur.

office in Kuala Lumpur is
due to the extensive engagement
and guidance from the Multimedia
Development Corp, availability
of industry specific intellectual
capital, competitive operational
costs and market reach,”
